Depression (Major Depressive Disorder)

Depression is a mental health condition that causes persistent sadness, loss of interest, and low energy, affecting daily life and emotional well-being. In Ayurveda, it is often associated with an imbalance of Vata and Kapha doshas, leading to emotional and mental disturbances. Ayurvedic treatment focuses on restoring balance through herbal remedies, a nourishing diet, yoga, meditation, and personalized lifestyle changes to support overall mental wellness.

Anxiety disorders are characterized by excessive worry, fear, and nervousness that can interfere with daily activities and overall well-being. In Ayurveda, anxiety is primarily linked to an aggravated Vata dosha, which affects the mind and nervous system. Symptoms may include restlessness, rapid heartbeat, difficulty sleeping, and poor concentration. Ayurvedic treatment focuses on calming the mind through herbal remedies, meditation, yoga, breathing exercises (Pranayama), and a balanced lifestyle to restore mental harmony.

Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings, including episodes of depression and periods of unusually high energy or mania. In Ayurveda, it is considered a result of imbalances in the Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas affecting the mind. Symptoms may include changes in mood, sleep, energy, and behavior. Ayurvedic care focuses on balancing the doshas through herbal remedies, a healthy diet, yoga, meditation, and personalized lifestyle practices to support emotional stability.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition marked by recurring unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions). These symptoms can interfere with daily life and increase stress and anxiety. In Ayurveda, OCD is often associated with an imbalance of the Vata dosha, affecting mental clarity and emotional balance. Ayurvedic treatment focuses on calming the mind through herbal remedies, meditation, yoga, breathing exercises, and a balanced lifestyle to promote mental well-being.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. It may cause flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety, emotional distress, and difficulty sleeping. In Ayurveda, PTSD is often associated with an aggravated Vata dosha, which affects the mind and nervous system. Ayurvedic care focuses on restoring emotional balance through herbal remedies, meditation, yoga, breathing practices, and a personalized lifestyle to support overall mental wellness.

Eating disorders are mental health conditions that affect a person’s eating habits, body image, and emotional well-being. They may include overeating, undereating, or unhealthy eating patterns that can impact physical and mental health. Ayurvedic treatment focuses on restoring balance through a nutritious diet, herbal remedies, yoga, meditation, and healthy lifestyle practices.
