Dr. Jaya Daptardar BAMS, AD, MHA (USA)

Jaya was born into an Indian Brahmin family and inherited the legacy and knowledge of Ayurveda and Vedic science from her great-grandfather, who was a Vaidya. Her great-grandfather served as a Royal Physician (Raj Vaidya). Jaya is an expert in astrology, Vastu Shastra, Vedic fire ceremonies, and poojas. She has embedded her knowledge to develop an Ayurvedic Healing Program for Mental Health and Addiction.

Jaya Daptardar is a respected Ayurvedic doctor, author, entrepreneur, and licensed esthetician with a master’s degree in healthcare administration.

With 30 years of experience in teaching and practicing Ayurveda globally, she serves on the board of the Ayurvedic University AAPNA and has spoken at over 50 conferences. For 25 years, she has combined Ayurvedic therapies to support mental health and substance abuse recovery in her community.


She gained recognition and has featured in various media outlets across multiple countries, including magazines, newspapers, and television in the USA. She is also the author of three books: “Aging Gracefully,” “Ayurveda’s Wisdom for Management of Pain and Addiction,” and “Be Beautiful Inside Out,” all of which focus on beauty care in Ayurveda.
Dr. Daptardar has received the DHARMA Award from the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America for her contributions to Ayurveda and wellness. She was also recognized for Women’s Empowerment by Ayush Darpan in New Delhi for her work in women’s health.
She is the CEO of Active Ayurveda and Yoga LLC. She teaches at AAPNA and Global Ayurveda Conferences and offers consulting services to healthcare companies. Dr. Daptardar has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Physicians’ Association in Connecticut and the Lifetime Achievement and Community Award from the Connecticut Marathi Mandal.
